The views from our magic houses.
Medium
polaroid emulsion lift, ballpoint pen and watercolor on polaroid mosaics.
Year
2015-2019
A series of Polaroid mosaics featuring mixed-media manipulations: lift-off on Polaroid, lift-off on paper, and paintings in ink and watercolor.
These mosaics recount an accidental adventure in search of magic in the everyday world. The two protagonists stumble upon a house made up of endless rooms, each with a unique feature, ranging from the absence of gravity to the ability to transport the visitor to surreal places inhabited by imaginary creatures. From glimpses into the fairy world, through the ocean depths inhabited by disturbing monsters, to the distortion of the laws of physics.
Here too, imagination reigns supreme, endowing real places with supernatural characteristics, in a constant oscillation between the existing and the nonexistent.
