Silvia's sketchbook. Page #1.
Hello!
(From now on we’ll try to keep this blog updated with two new columns: one for Silvia’s paintings and one for Leo’s photos. Every time we’ll find ourselves with paintings or photos that don’t justify a single article dedicated to them, we’ll put them in these columns.)
This two paintings are a little experiment with a new style I did when painting was the last thing a was supposed to do. The red one I didn’t like at all while painting it, but in the end it turned out way cooler than I expected.
The materials used are watercolors, ballpoint pen, black indian ink, white ink and gold ink.
The words are from the songs ジャイアニズム碌 (Gianizm Roku) and ジャイアニズム天 (Gianizm Ten), both by NIGHTMARE. You can listen to the songs here and here. The mono means “one” or “thing”. I saved the following translations years ago and, regrettably, dind’t write down who translated. So if you, original translator, somehow find this article don’t hesitate to contact us if you either want your name written or the translation removed.
This painting, on the other hand, is a lot more lighthearted. While cleaning my phone I came across some old photos and, hit by a wave of nostalgia, decided to paint this minty haired Leo. I used watercolor, white ink and a some ballpoint pen.
This painting also gave me an idea, so you might see this Leo again.
The next painting is of a really cool coat. A really expensive cool coat. A really expensive cool coat that I decided to paint because I certainly can’t buy it. Again, watercolor, ballpoint pens and white ink.
I also filmed the proceess of this one and we’ll post it on our IGtv some time in the near future.
Now, a fanart. Ravi from VIXX released his new song and since I really liked some of the clothes I decided to practice some watercolor with a simple painting. Painting the jewelery in such a small scale was a really fun challenge.
Doesn’t really look like him, but whathver. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You can listen to the song here and see the teaser photos I used for reference here.
And lastly, my first attempt at using a graphic tablet (well, actually, my first attempt was writing “ass” in a nice cursive). I am still in shock because of how easier some things become when you do them digitally. Like, I don’t have to throw away the whole thing if I make a mistake. Wild.
This character is, unsurprisingly, based on Leonardo, BUT, it’s also a character of a story we’ve been working on for years now, so keep your eyes peeled for some news in the future. We’ll probably drop snippets of the story here and there.
(The creature in our logo is from this story, too).
